I think we’re going to the moon because it’s in the nature of the human being to face challenges. It’s by the nature of his deep inner soul… we’re required to do these things just as salmon swim upstream.

Although the possibilities of yearbook design may seem as vast as a galaxy, we’re here to help! This week we’re embracing space as inspiration for your yearbook design, pretty apt with the recent release of Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Whether you choose to make your whole yearbook ‘out of this world’, or just a few pages, Yearbook Hub has many space-related backgrounds to choose from including Galaxy, Planets and Stars.
Quick ideas and activities
Make an intro page inspired by the Star Wars opening credits. The super super super famous rolling credits at the beginning of every episode are perfect for either your introduction, Headteacher message, or your Yearbook Committee thank you speech.
If you don’t already have house names at your school, how about theming your tutor group pages with different planets in the solar system?
Get making! Create an outer space photo booth and take loads of fun photos of the students using the props – astronaut and alien head photo frames, flags, planets, rockets, stars are all good fun to play with!
Make a space quotes page
There are tons of inspirational quotes out there relating to space, I’ve given you a bonus one at the top of this post. Use a simple Out of this World background from Yearbook Hub, add your favourite quote and dress it up with some elements. You can also upload your own .png files if you have more space-related images of your own.
Yearbook profile question ideas:
- Which planet would you like to visit most?
- Who would you take with you in your space rocket?
- What’s your favourite space-related film?
- What’s your star sign?
- If you could time travel when/where would you go, and why?
- Which is your favourite phase of the moon?
- Who is your favourite astronaut?
- What would you call your spaceship?
